    martham-lodge-for-brochure-0381Martham Lodge Residential Home for the Elderly is situated in a quite lane overlooking the village green in the beautiful village of Martham. On the edge of the Norfolk Broads and close to the coast. Throughout the year many community events are held on the  green including music events, a fun fair, the village carnival and Christmas craft fair.

    Martham Lodge offers a comfortable and secure environment for all it residents.

    The home is an old Victorian country house with a modern purpose-built extension providing most of the resident’s bedrooms. At the rear of the property is a large south facing garden which is safely enclosed for use by the residents and visitors to the home.

    Martham Lodge is an Elderly Mentally Infirm Home, offering specialist care for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s. All the staff who work within the home are specially trained in dealing with clients falling into this category.

    The proprietors, Ray & Sue  (a qualified nurse) have run Residential Care Homes for over 25 years. Emma Douglas is the Manager and is on hand on a day to day basis, she has been working at Martham Lodge since June 2001 and between them their objective is to run Martham Lodge as a large family where rules & regulations are kept to a minimum. Along with her work at Martham Lodge Emma is also on the Board of Governors for the Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and a committee member for the Great Yarmouth branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.

    “We aim to provide a professional standard of care and service to the elderly within a safe, homely and warm environment. Martham Lodge provides a home for 20 residents which is a relatively small number, allowing us to provide a caring and relaxed environment, in which a resident can live with dignity and maintain a lifestyle which would be enjoyed in their own home.”

  • Christmas Party

    On the 16th December Emma, Eric & the Staff held the clients Christmas Party. Eric made Mulled Wine which disappeared very quickly. Brian Day singing festive songs. Everyone joined in.
